A Dream Called Home
The volume <A Dream Called Habitation= by Mexican American writer Reyna Grande is nearly
a girl who overcomes multiple obstacles to follow and pursue her dream. The book is split up
into ii books, book one and book 2. The proper name of book one is called <Twice the Girl I Utilize to
Be=, which was the part of the story to share with the reader what her life looked like attempting
to be a successful writing pupil at the school of Academy of Santa Cruz. In this function of the
book, she faces some uncomfortable and challenging situations, including her sister having to
move in with her on campus, teachers mispronouncing her name, and finding someone to guide
her down her writing path. In book ii, it is called <The Home I Carry.= This office of the volume
shows the reader Reyna9s life struggles later on college. After graduating, she struggles to notice a job
and to use her college degree that she worked hard to accomplish. She ends up having to settle for a
middle schoolhouse educational activity job where she finds well-nigh no time to write herself. No matter what
scenario was thrown at her, she did non quit; she concluded up buying a house, falling in dear, and
accomplishing her dream to publish her book. Ane of the main central themes throughout this
volume is her dream. She never gave up on it and did any information technology took to go successful and
reach her dream. Throughout the story, her character develops and adapts to the new structure
and flavor in her life.
Reyna struggled to be accustomed by both her family unit and her fellow students. As an illegal
immigrant with no documentation, she continually pushed into a corner by classmates. Reyna
